Cookie Policy

What we set on your device, what each one is for, and how to change your mind at any point — as easily as you agreed in the first place.

The cookies we use

Last updated: 28 August 2026
This policy explains what cookies 12 Degrees uses on 12-degrees.co.uk, what they do, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — that you dismissed a message, what you put in a form, or how you arrived at the site. Similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage do much the same job, and where we refer to cookies below we mean those too.

2. Your consent

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work don’t need your permission. Everything else does — and under UK law that permission has to be something you actively give. Continuing to browse is not consent.

So when you first arrive, you’ll see a banner asking which categories you’re happy with. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. You can accept everything, reject everything, or pick individual categories, and you can change your mind at any time — see section 5.

We record your choice so we don’t have to keep asking, and we ask again periodically, and whenever we add something new.

3. The categories we use

CategoryWhat it’s forConsent needed?
Functional Strictly necessary for the site to work — page delivery, security, and remembering your cookie choice itself. No — the site can’t work without them
Preferences Remember choices you’ve made so the site behaves the way you left it. Yes
Statistics Help us understand which pages people find useful, how they arrived and where they get stuck, so we can improve the site. Yes
Marketing Used to measure and target advertising, and to track visits across websites. Yes

4. The cookies on this site

The list below is generated from a scan of this website and updates itself when anything changes, so it always reflects what’s actually running.

5. Changing your mind

You can review or change your choices whenever you like — including withdrawing consent you’ve already given. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it.

The same link sits in the footer of every page. When you withdraw consent, the relevant cookies stop being set; some already stored on your device may remain until they expire or you clear them, which you can do using the browser controls in section 6.

6. Browser controls

Separately from the banner, your browser lets you block or delete cookies for any site. Be aware that blocking all cookies will stop parts of most websites working properly.

Most browsers also send a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal if you enable it. Where we receive a recognised Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an objection to non-essential cookies.

7. Third parties

Some cookies are set by other organisations rather than by us. Where we use them, they only run once you’ve consented to the relevant category.

  • Google Analytics — tells us how the site is used, in aggregate. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we do not use it to identify individuals. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Embedded content — pages that include a video, map or social post can set cookies from that provider. Where consent is needed, the content stays blocked behind a placeholder until you allow it.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own advertising.

8. Changes to this policy

We review this policy whenever the site changes and at least once a year. The date at the top shows the last update. Material changes will trigger a fresh consent request.
