A simple reset for the busy EA with Christmas, spring and everything in between on the list.
Secure the things that disappear
September is a useful reset point because you can see the next few months clearly enough to decide what needs attention first. The rule is simple: secure the things that disappear and leave the things that can flex until later.
That means Christmas party venues, spring event dates and venues, outdoor challenge dates, key suppliers and anything dependent on a diary that is already filling up.
Christmas: book the venue
If the Christmas party isn't secured, make that the first call. Get the preferred date, venue and headcount range locked in. Menus, entertainment, decorations and finer details can follow.
If your first-choice venue is unavailable, having a clear brief means you can move quickly to the next best option rather than starting the search again.
Spring: get the foundations moving
For March and April events, September is about building the framework. Confirm the objective, numbers, budget and date range, then start the venue search. If you need accommodation or a specialist activity, include that now.
Once the venue is secured, the rest of the planning becomes much easier.
Outdoor challenges: choose the experience
If you're thinking about an outdoor challenge in spring, decide what you want the team to get from it. Adventure? Connection? Fundraising? A CSR story? Once the purpose is clear, the right format is easier to choose.
Then start early enough to plan the route, safety, logistics and contingencies properly.
You don't need to own every task
The September reset isn't about adding more to your list. It's about removing the tasks that don't need to be yours. Venue finding is an obvious one: we can search, shortlist and negotiate for you, completely free.
The aim is a calendar that feels under control, not a bigger spreadsheet.
Tell us what's sitting on your event list and we'll take the bits you don't have time for.
