12 Degrees began life running marine events — sailing regattas, dragon boat races, on-the-water challenges. Twenty years on, that origin still shapes how we give back. A Coastal Impact Day is the most direct expression of that throughline.
What is a Coastal Impact Day?
12 Degrees runs Coastal Impact Days in partnership with The 2 Minute Foundation — the UK charity founded by surfer Martin Dorey in 2014, behind the 1,400+ Beach Clean Stations now installed at beaches, parks, canals and community hubs across the UK. Each station provides equipment for anyone passing to do a two-minute clean and remove plastic from the environment in their lifetime.
Our partnership lets us offer a flexible, on-brand way for your team to take part. Same charity, three delivery formats, depending on group size, location and budget. Every format funds new 2 Minute Foundation work.
This is a deliver-for activity, not a volunteer-at one. Your team produces measurable, lasting impact — plastic removed, stations funded, beaches protected for the next decade.
Three formats, one cause
Pick the format that fits your team, your location and your budget. We'll handle everything from kit, transport and facilitation through to charity liaison and post-event reporting.
Format 1
UK Beach Clean
A hands-on day at a UK beach. Your team carries out a structured clean using 2MF methodology — quantified, weighed, photographed. Lunch and team activity built in. Best for smaller groups who want to be on the sand themselves.
From £45 pp · 10-40 people
Format 2
Coastal Activity Day
A full day at a coastal venue — sailing, paddleboarding, regatta or coastal walk — with a 2MF impact element built in. The team day itself funds new 2MF cleanup stations installed in your company's name. Marine origin meets modern team building.
From £85 pp · 20-200 people
Format 3
Conference Impact Moment
A 60-90 minute CSR break-out at your conference or all-hands event. Each delegate's attendance funds a 2MF cleanup station-day, and the room is taken through the marine plastic story with a 2MF representative where possible. Office or venue-friendly.
From £35 pp · 100-1,000+ people
Format details and pricing are indicative and may evolve as our 2MF partnership matures. Final scope is confirmed at proposal stage.
The 2 Minute Foundation, by the numbers
Founded in 2014 by surfer Martin Dorey on a North Cornwall beach. A decade on, 2MF has built a UK-wide network that lets anyone passing a beach, park or canal pick up a piece of plastic in two minutes — and over a million people now have. Your team's Coastal Impact Day funds the next chapter.

Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about Coastal Impact Days. For broader questions about 12 Degrees, see the FAQs in the footer below.
Which format is right for our team?
Smaller teams (10-40) tend to favour the hands-on Beach Clean. Mid-size groups (20-200) love the Coastal Activity Day, where the team day itself funds new 2MF stations. Larger conference audiences (100+) work best with the Conference Impact Moment.
Where in the UK can it run?
UK beaches and coastal venues for Formats 1 and 2 — North Norfolk, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire, the South Coast, and East Anglia all work well. Format 3 (Conference Impact Moment) runs at any UK venue, including your office.
What happens if the weather is bad?
For coastal formats we always have a contingency built in — covered venue space, alternative format, or rescheduled date depending on severity. Plastic on UK beaches isn't usually weather-fussy, but your team will be.
What do we get back after the day?
A B1G1-verified impact report — weight of plastic collected (Format 1), number of new 2MF stations funded (Formats 2 and 3), location data and post-installation imagery where applicable.
Can our company name go on the stations?
Yes — funded 2MF stations are typically dedicated to the funding organisation. Subject to 2MF's design and placement protocols. We'll confirm at proposal stage.
Can we combine this with another activity?
Yes — Coastal Impact Days pair brilliantly with sailing, paddleboarding, dragon boat or rowing regattas. They also work as the CSR layer on a wider away day or off-site.
