Your team doesn’t volunteer at a charity. They deliver something for one.

Every kit your team assembles is checked, packed and shipped to a UK charity partner. The contents are practical, dignified and immediately usable — not symbolic. Real items going to real people in real need.

What is it

What is the Pack for Purpose day?

Pack for Purpose is an in-office team volunteering activity. Your team assembles curated impact kits — boxes containing practical items selected by UK charity partners as what their service users actually need. The kits ship out the day they’re packed, going to people experiencing homelessness, young people in care leaving the system, frontline NHS and emergency-service workers, or other groups your chosen charity partner supports.

12 Degrees brings everything: kit components, packing materials, branded checklists, facilitators, and the kit destination logistics. Your team works in pairs or small groups, building from a sealed component list, double-checking each kit, sealing and labelling it for shipping. It’s a deliver-for activity, not a volunteer-at one. Every box ends the day on its way to a real person who needs it.

Kit options

Pick the kit that fits your team’s chosen cause. Each kit type pairs with a UK charity partner who confirms what’s in the box.

Homelessness

Street Bags

Essential items for people experiencing rough sleeping — toiletries, socks, snacks, water, hat, gloves, hand-warmer, kit list with local support resources.

Young people

Career Kickstarters

Stationery, interview-ready essentials, CV-writing guide, journal and tools for young people leaving care or entering the workforce.

Frontline

Frontline Care Packages

Treat-and-recharge kits for NHS, emergency services and frontline care workers — snacks, hand cream, a thank-you note, comfort items for long shifts.

Other kit types available on brief — Mum & Baby Bags, Crisis Care Kits, Refugee Welcome Packs. Talk to us about your team’s chosen cause.

How a Pack for Purpose day runs

Why this matters: the charity partner, the kit contents, the people receiving them. Sets the stakes before the activity starts.

Build the kits

Pairs or small groups work through a checklist, assembling kits from sealed components. Quality-checked as you go. About 4-6 kits per person per hour.

3

Seal & ship

Each completed kit sealed, labelled and packed into shipping crates. We arrange courier collection direct to the charity partner.

Pack for Purpose · FAQs

Practical answers about how a Pack for Purpose day runs. For broader 12 Degrees questions, see the FAQs in the footer below.

Format

How long does a Pack for Purpose day take?

A focused build runs 90 minutes to 2 hours including welcome, brief and team photography. Half-day (3 hours) and full-day formats add wider content sessions or pair with a second activity.

Venue

Where does it happen?

Almost always in your office or a venue you’ve booked. We bring everything: components, tables, mats, facilitators, shipping crates. Minimum we typically need: a clear floor area large enough for the group + 2-hour set-up time.

Charity choice

Can we choose which charity benefits?

Yes — we work with vetted UK charity partners across homelessness, young people in care, frontline workers, refugees and other causes. If you already have a charity partner, we’ll work with them directly.

Group Size

What’s the minimum and maximum group size?

Minimum 20 to make the day worthwhile. No real maximum — we’ve delivered up to 500 at conference scale, with multiple facilitators and a phased build flow.

Impact

What do we get back after the day?

Shipping confirmation from the charity partner, a B1G1 impact summary, and where the partner provides it, photography of the kits in use. Your team sees who they helped.

Combos

Can we combine this with another activity?

Yes — Pack for Purpose pairs well with a wider away day, a conference, or alongside another purpose-led format (SolarBuddy, Prosthetic Hand, Charity Bike Build). Talk to us about combined formats.
