Why ours

The hunt is the easy bit.

A treasure hunt is a brilliant team activity. Mixed groups, real-world problem solving, conversations between people who don't normally cross paths, two hours of friendly competition that has nothing to do with the spreadsheet. The reason teams remember the day, though, is everything around the hunt.

That's where 12 Degrees comes in. We design and deliver the full team day — venue at the start (briefing, breakfast, kit), venue at the end (lunch or drinks, prize-giving, debrief), and all the logistics in between. The hunt platform we use is the best in the UK. The team day we wrap around it is the bit nobody else does properly.

How you run it

Self-run, hosted, or fully managed.

Three ways to run your hunt — pick the level of support that fits your team and your budget. Every option uses the same best-in-UK hunt technology; the difference is how much we take off your plate.

Lowest cost

Self-Run

Best for smaller teams, tighter budgets, or remote groups who just want a brilliant hunt to run themselves.

You host · in person or online

The 12 Degrees wrap

What's in a managed treasure hunt day.

Venue · Start

Briefing venue

A central, on-brand venue to gather the team — branded breakfast, kit handover, briefing, energy build. Sets the tone before the hunt starts.

Logistics

Transport & hospitality

If the start and end venues are apart, transfers are managed. Drinks for spectators, refreshment stops mid-hunt, full hospitality cover throughout.

Venue · End

Finish venue + prize-giving

A second venue for the closing celebration — lunch or drinks, leaderboard reveal, prize-giving, awards moment. The bit nobody plans properly when they DIY.

Optional

Charity-embedded format

Add a CSR layer. Every team's points convert to a B1G1 impact bundle for the charity of your choice. The competition has stakes beyond the leaderboard.

6,000+ IMPACTS

Our events generate 6,000+ measurable charity outcomes — clean water days, school meals, trees planted. With a charity-embedded hunt, your team day produces real, reportable impact, shown back to you in a post-event dashboard.

FAQs

Treasure hunt events — your questions answered

An interactive, challenge-based event where teams solve clues and complete tasks across a city, venue or online. At 12 Degrees the hunt is wrapped in a fully-managed team day — venue, hospitality, logistics and prize-giving — so it fosters real connection and engagement, not just a couple of hours of clues.

Teams work through a series of clues, puzzles or GPS-enabled tasks that lead them from one point to the next, racing to complete every challenge before the other teams. Games can include:

  • Riddles & brainteasers
  • GPS checkpoints or location clues
  • Photo and video challenges
  • Live points scoring and a leaderboard

Within the event, teams of 4–8 work best — big enough to collaborate, small enough for everyone to take part. Overall we run hunts from around 12 people up to 600+ (and over 1,000 in indoor formats), splitting larger groups into multiple teams with staggered starts and unique routes.

We run hunts UK-wide, in four formats:

  • Outdoor city hunts — explore local landmarks
  • Indoor venue hunts — perfect for mixed weather and conferences
  • Virtual hunts — remote teams join online
  • Hybrid events — combine physical and digital tasks

That makes them versatile for retreats, conferences, away days and social events.

The active hunt typically runs 60–180 minutes depending on route and number of challenges. Wrapped as a full team day — briefing, the hunt, lunch or drinks and prize-giving — expect a 2–6 hour window. We can flex shorter or longer to fit your agenda.

Most hunts are app-based, run on participants' own smartphones, with teams collaborating around photo and video challenges, trivia and navigation puzzles and a live leaderboard. We brief everyone before the start so non-tech users are confident. Non-app and tablet-led formats are also available.

City hunts run rain or shine — teams just regroup faster. For more severe weather we build an indoor contingency into every brief, and the indoor format is available year-round.

Yes. Our charity-embedded hunts convert team scores into measurable B1G1 impact bundles for your chosen cause, with a post-event impact report. It adds meaning to the leaderboard and a real CSR outcome — without changing the hunt mechanic.

Treasure hunts are great for developing:

  • Communication and collaboration
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving
  • Leadership and decision-making
  • Friendly competition and morale

They also naturally encourage people who don't normally cross paths to get to know each other.

Managed event packages start from £85pp (Hunt + lunch), £150pp (Hunt + dinner) and £200pp (full event day), depending on group size, city and the level of wrap. Self-run and hosted options are quoted on request, and bespoke or large-scale builds are priced individually. Tell us your brief for a tailored quote.
